Terms of Service

The contract between you and Karthwyld.

Effective 2026-05-09

Welcome to Karthwyld(“the Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Karthwyld Ltd (Limited Company, “we”, “us”) regarding your use of https://karthwyld.com and any associated sub-domains. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. If you are below the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and consents on your behalf.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for any activity on your account, including keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must not share your account, sell or transfer it, or use someone else’s account without permission. Notify us immediately at support@karthwyld.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. The Game and Virtual Items

The Service is an online game in which you collect creatures, gather items (sigils, potions, elixirs), and progress through levels of play. Items obtained in-game are virtual: they exist only inside the Service’s servers, are licensed to you on a non-transferable basis, and have no real-world monetary value.

4. Aether Shards (Premium Currency)

The Service offers a virtual currency called Aether Shards. Shards may be purchased with real money or, in some cases, awarded for free. Once credited to your account, Shards are spent on randomized loot containers (“Caches”) at the Aether Vault.

  • Shards are a license to receive in-game contents and are not legal tender, real currency, or a claim on cash.
  • Shards are non-transferable. You may not sell, lend, or trade them to other users or to any third party.
  • Shards expire if your account is closed, suspended, or inactive for more than twelve (12) months.
  • Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy.

5. Caches & Random Outcomes

Each Cache delivers a randomized selection of in-game items. The category of items (number of sigils, optional consumable, optional creature) is fixed per Cache type and disclosed at the point of purchase. The specific items, rarities, and creatures are determined by a random roll at the moment the Cache is opened. By opening a Cache you accept the random outcome. We do not guarantee any specific item from a specific roll.

6. Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, modify, scrape, or interfere with the Service beyond ordinary gameplay.
  • Use bots, automation, or third-party tools to interact with game systems on your behalf.
  • Sell, trade, or barter accounts, items, or in-game currency outside of the Service’s built-in trading mechanisms (if any).
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of others, or to upload unlawful content.
  • Attempt to obtain Shards, items, or progress through fraudulent means, including chargeback abuse.

Violations may result in warning, suspension, account termination, or forfeiture of unspent Shards without refund, at our sole discretion.

7. Service Changes

The Service is delivered on an evolving basis. We may add, change, or remove game features, items, balance values, drop tables, and Cache contents at any time. Where reasonably possible, material changes will be announced in advance.

8. Intellectual Property

All game artwork, text, audio, code, and design elements are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. You receive a limited, personal, non-commercial, revocable license to use the Service. Nothing on the site grants you ownership of any intellectual property.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost data, lost progress, or lost Shards arising from events outside our reasonable control (server outages, third-party provider failures, force majeure). Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US$50.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion via support@karthwyld.com. We may suspend or terminate access for any user who breaches these Terms. Refund implications of termination are governed by the Refund Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory consumer protections that apply to you under your local law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Significant changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
